25 years ago, my husband and I made a pretty wild decision - to leave behind our comfortable life in Alaska, conventional routines, busy work and parenting schedules to travel indefinately on a catamaran.
When our daughters were just 1 and 4, we sold our home and everything we owned to follow a dream—and set off on a journey that would shape our lives forever.
Our sailing adventures took us from the crystal waters of the Bahamas to the vibrant cultures of Central America, across the remote beauty of the South Pacific, and finally on to New Zealand, where I had always dreamed of living.
For over a decade we navigated the joys and fears of cruising - working and playing together within 50 feet of deck space on the big blue. What we came to find is the value of presence over perfection...and through the eyes of our children, that meant the world.
